According to Aristotle, rhetoric is the art of persuasion, or more specifically, rhetoric is the act of figuring out which means of persuasion are most effective for a given rhetorical situation. This means using rhetorical devices, like comparison, or considering careful word choices, like “terrorist” versus “freedom fighter”.
